Sony unlikely to unveil flagship Xperia at MWC

Contrary to yesterday’s report. it now seems that Sony will hold off from launching its new Xperia flagship device at this year's Mobile World Congress, according to a recent tweet from mobile insider Ricciolo.

Codenamed ‘Yoshino’, the new device is expected to feature a 5.5-inch 4K display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, the same processor used by Samsung for the upcoming Galaxy S8 smartphone.

Samsung is thought to have exclusive rights to the Snapdragon processor up until the Galaxy S8’s launch, and as a result Sony will have to wait until after the S8 launches if it wants to use the processor as part of its new Xperia device.
