Chinese photo app Meitu has come under fire for collecting user data for advertising purposes, as noted in an article from Tech Times.

The free app, which adds anime-like features including bigger eyes and feathers to photos, tracks locations, mobile carrier information, IP addresses and generates unique identifiers for iPhone users, and shares the IMEI codes used to identify individual Android devices with servers in China.
