Nintendo considering video apps for the Switch

Although the Nintendo Switch will not feature any video-streaming services like Netflix or Amazon Prime when the console launches in March, Nintendo is considering adding video apps at some point in the future, as revealed in an article from Kotaku.

When questioned about streaming services for the new Nintendo console, the company responded ‘All of our efforts have gone toward making the Nintendo Switch system an amazing dedicated video game platform, so it will not support any video-streaming services at launch. However, support for video-streaming services is being considered for a future update.’

Video apps were available for Nintendo’s last console, the Wii U, so it’s likely that the company will prioritise adding streaming services to the Switch following its March 3 launch.
