iPhone 8 to feature familiar design to iPhone 4
The iPhone 8 will include two reinforced glass panels held together by a stainless steel frame, as noted in a report from Digitimes. This is very similar to the iPhone 4’s design, which was well received at the time but later faced criticism due to its potential to crack or shatter if dropped.
Sources from the company’s supply chain suggest that reduced costs and manufacturing time are the reasons behind the change in design. It is believed that Apple will be able to reduce production costs by 30 percent to 50 percent.
