The Emoji Movie trailer - this is a real thing

The Emoji Movie is a totally real thing that's in the works and will be in cinemas very soon - here's the first trailer.

There's a real life thing in the works called The Emoji Movie. It's bringing the little characters in your phone to life, in the style of something like Wreck-It Ralph. And this is how they've chosen to show the film off in its first ever trailer.

Well having it in portrait orientation like a phone is kind of neat. Otherwise this seems to be an oddly negative way of drumming up attention for the feature. We don't really get to learn anything about what will happen in it, and we're kind of bummed out.

But hey maybe this is a clever way to lower our expectations before the next run of promos hit the humour out the park. The cast is headed by T.J. Miller, who will play a rare emoji who has multiple expressions. He's a funny fella, and let's hope he can bring some energy to proceedings.
