Is The Headphone Jack Going In The Galaxy S8

Apple came under intense ire of the public after they announced that they would be removing the headphone jack from the Iphone 7. Well it looks like Samsung is set to follow them down the beaten path.

It appears that the Galaxy S8 will not have a 3.5mm audio jack for you to connect your headphones to.

So will this give rise to the same sort of problem that Iphone 7 users had, like having to either buy wireless headphones or a dongle for the port.

What about charging and listening to music at the same time? Is that a thing of the past left only as an old fable to tell our children?

Well it looks like removing the headphone jack from the Iphone 7 was a good idea for manufacturers as it allowed them to add features like waterproofing and better vibration feedback.

The dongle situation will be a tricky one but if you do have bluetooth headphones it wont be too bad, plus they will probably include an adapter with the S8.

Also charging and listening to music at the same time shouldn’t be a problem as the S8 will support wireless charging.

Samsung need a win after the Note 7 fiasco, who knows, in the immortal words of Pepper Brooks “it’s a bold strategy cotton let’s see if it pays off.”

The Galaxy S8 is expected to be announced at the Mobile World Congress in February 2017.
