Candy Crush is becoming a TV series

Is this real life? Now mobile game Candy Crush is being made into a major TV series- and the world makes less sense again.

Candy Crush appeared on the scene in 2012 and took over our mobile devices with the fruitless pursuit of hundreds of levels where you had to line up sweet delights until the game decided you couldn't proceed anymore so it made things impossibly hard to encourage you to pay real world cash to continue.

Four years on and it's fair to say that particular obsession has eased somewhat, but that doesn't mean the property is gone as a TV show is in the works.
