Samsung launches first 4K blu-ray player

The only real problem with 4K is the current lack of truely ultra HD content. Sure there's tech to upscale your systems and Netflix steams some shows and movies in 4K but the actual native video is still lacking. That's about to change with the advent of a new home video format, and the first player is here.

Samsung has launched their UBD-K8500 device, which is the world's first Ultra HD 4K blu ray player. It doesn't seem like you can buy any disks in the format yet but you can hook it up to your tv to play regular brs, DVDs and connect to Netflix.
