Snapchat is closing its Lens Store
You can still purchase Lenses until the store closes on Friday if you’d like to use them in future messages, while there will still be some free Lenses available.
The Lens Store, according to a report from Business Insider, was actually performing quite well. Apparently, tens of thousands of Lenses were being sold daily. But Snapchat says that it’s shuttering the store to refocus its efforts on its advertising business instead.
Snapchat’s statement on the closure of the store says, “This Friday (1/8/16) we will be closing the Lens Store. You can purchase Lenses that you’d like to use again and again before Friday at 12:01AM PT. You will be able to use the Lenses you have purchased after the Lens Store closes, and the ones available for free every day!”
So, if there are Lenses that you had your eye on, you should act quickly.
