OnePlus warns against using its USB-C cable with third-party products

OnePlus has acknowledged that people should not use its Type-C cable or USB Type-C adapter with third-party products.

While they are safe to use with the OnePlus 2, OnePlus wrote on its forum that they “are using a resistor that may not be fully compatible with some third-party devices.” You could end up damaging your charger, hub or PC USB port if you use it with devices other than the OnePlus 2.

OnePlus says that it is now working on developing improved Type-C cables and adapters.
