Burnout's spiritual successor to take inspiration from Burnout 3

Three Fields Entertainment, which features former Criterion developers on its books, is basing its upcoming racer on Burnout 3: Takedown.

The developer revealed on Twitter that "Shiny Red Something" will be the spiritual successor to "the third one." This most likely means that the game will abandon the open world of Burnout Paradise, instead returning to the closed circuits of the series' roots.

Last week, Three Fields Entertainment asked fans if they would prefer to see its racing title be inspired by "the second, the third or the fourth one." The third one won out in the end.
