VIDEO Age of Ultron deleted scene has more Thor
Avengers Age of Ultron was an enjoyable big screen blockbuster but also felt oddly inconsequential in the middle of the wider Marvel-verse and didn't really do a lot with its large roster of characters. That was especially true of Chris Hemsworth's Thor, who wanders off on another mission at one point without any real explanation. Thankfully we're getting a bit more context now that the film is out on home video, with plenty of deleted material.
Here's what Thor was supposed to be up to that time he went for a bath and provided some gratuitous shirtlessness.
Ok...
While it's obvious we're not seeing the entire sequence here, at least it gave the always watchable Hemsworth a little more to do. Director Joss Whedon explained at the time that he had a version of the film which ran well over three hours but it just wasn't working, not to mention the fact that Disney would never let him release something that long.
The two hour twenty minute version which did release earlier in 2015 certainly felt like it was missing something, it's a shame we'll never see anything resembling a full director's cut. We'll just have to wait for Captain America Civil War, which is sounding like the true Avengers sequel at this point.
