Apple Watch finally available in Ireland!

It has been a long wait but truly dedicated fans have been able to pick up one of the new devices fairly easily from the US or the UK. If you are still looking for one, you'll might have to save up - the cheapest model - the Apple Watch Sport - costs €429 and the mid range version - the Watch - runs €679 in it's cheapest configuration.

If money is no object there' also the Apple Watch Edition which features a gold case and can cost as much as €18,500! Which is pretty ridiculous.

Retailers like Harvey Norman and Currys PC World are offering the devices now. If you're still not actually sure what the thing does - it's basically an extension of your smartphone, letting you see calls and other notifications on your wrist. That's the best use for smartwatches right now, as a way to give you some freedom from your phone. Of course, the Apple Watch does some other things, including decent fitness tracking and letting you send your heartbeat to other people - provided they also have an Apple Watch. And you can also make a phone call by talking to your wrist, which everyone is bound to try once.

Are you ready for your wearable? The Apple Watch is available now.
