Splendor board game gets app and PC game
In Splendor, players attempt to attain the biggest gem network and become the most influential merchant. They do so by initially collecting gem tokens, which can then be used to purchase gems that become a permanent part of their collection and resources. The more expensive cards also grant victory points.
The app and digital game offer a solo mode as well as a pass-and-play mode for two to four players. Splendor’s AI opponents are based on “unique strategy behaviours” rather than simply offering a generic difficulty level.
There are also scenario-based “Challenges.” These put players in preset situations and ask them to achieve a specific goal. This could be anything from changing the number of points needed to win to combinations of cards to collect or even a limitation on the number of turns a player has. Some will teach advanced techniques, while others allow players to have fun with an altered ruleset.
Splendor is now available from the App Store, the Google Play Store, or from Steam.
