Nintendo had planned to unlock Super Mario Maker’s features over nine days, but has dropped this after complaints from fans.

Instead, players will actually have to play Super Mario Maker to get their hands on all its features. This unlock system will be added as part of a downloadable Version 1.01 patch.

This means that players won’t be able to work around the unlock cycle by simply changing the date on their Wii U.
