New Google phone details leak - does it finally have a name?

Plenty of rumours are suggesting that Google will release two new smartphones this year - and we might finally have a name for one.

New Google phone details leak - does it finally have a name?

The latest leak is suggesting one of the new phones could be called the Google Nexus 5X, as distinct from the previous Nexus 5 which released in 2013. This handset is likely being made by LG, with the other potentially larger phone machined by Huawei.

We’ve also been hearing that both phones could release on the 29th of September from the Google Play Store. That’s only a few weeks away, suggesting that an offical annoucement from Google will happen very soon. Android Authorityalso has some news on a potential price point for the new phones. The Nexus 5X could start at as little as $399 for the base 16g model and $449 for the larger 32g model.

That’s aggressive enough pricing in this market, but the internal specs aren’t likely to be as high as the best flagship models around. It should also be noted that Google rarely includes microSD support in its handsets so you’ll have to carefully consider that before choosing the storage size.

All of these details are rumours but you can be sure we’ll hear more soon.
