VIDEO Mad Max is out today - feel the crazy in the launch trailer
You have to give props to an open world action title which would deliberately decide to release on the same day as Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Which is an open world action title with a fanatical fanbase and the first full entry in the series in seven years.
But that's exactly what Avalanche Studios has done with Mad Max, which borrows liberally from the mythology of George Miller's post apocalyptic series to tell its own tale of survival and driving really, really fast. There's hand to hand fighting, exploration and - of course - the Magnum Opus car itself which you have to piece back together in order to win against the wasteland.
The game comes out on the day before Mad Max Fury Road on home video in the United States, so that cross promotion makes a bit of sense. We're not getting the madness on blu-ray until the 5th of October.
