Samsung Galaxy Note 5 won't be coming to Ireland in 2015

At a major Unpacked event yesterday, Samsung revealed the details on their new suite of products, including the Galaxy Note 5 and the much-leaked Galaxy S6 Edge+.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 won't be coming to Ireland in 2015

They’re great-looking phones with fairly similar specs - depending on whether you favour that fancy S-Pen or a handset with stylishly curved sides.

Otherwise the screen-size, battery, cameras and more are pretty much identical which might make choosing difficult. Unless you’re in Europe.

That’s because Samsung has confirmed that it has no plans to release the Galaxy Note 5 in Europe at all in 2015. Right after the event there’s no further information on why but hopefully we’ll learn something in the coming months.

Right now it seems like a bizarre decision, especially when the Note 4 seems pretty popular in Ireland, especially with business types who are likely getting to the end of their current contract.

European folks will however be able to get their hands on the new Galaxy S6 Edge+ and maybe that’s Samsung’s plan all along - to force people to adopt their latest super stylish handset.

It has an octa-core chip, 4 gigs of RAM and the 16 MP rear camera inherited from the S6 which consistently tops smartphone camera tests.

It’s a great-looking phone too and you won’t have to wait long for it - pre-orders start on August 18, and the phone will be available in early September.

More info on the Galaxy Note 5 as we get it.
