Twitter removes custom backgrounds from profiles

If you haven’t yet logged into your Twitter account, you may be in for a surprise. Twitter has removed background images from all timelines and profile pages.

Twitter removes custom backgrounds from profiles

Twitter says that background images are now only available “where logged-in users will see them publicly (Tweet pages, list pages and collections pages).”

Naturally, users are put out by Twitter’s removal of background images, especially as it was done without any prior warning. Many describe the new background as "blinding white" or “#blindingwhite” if they’re using Twitter to make their feelings known.
