PS Now open beta arrives in the UK - all the games for a monthly fee
It does this through the power of streaming - you'll actually be selecting a game which is playing on a powerful machine at a central location which streams the content to your TV, mobile or tablet. You push a button, the action is set over the wires and the result is fed to the other machine and back. And it all happens so quickly you don't even notice the response lag. At least theoretically.
British folks are putting this theory to the test right now as Sony PlayStation has started an open beta for PS Now in the UK. Gamers will be able to log in on PS4, PS3 and some Sony TV's, choose a game and get playing. It's a streamlined version of the service which offers a selection of older PlayStation 3 titles for rent for a period of 48 hours or 30 days. Pricing goes from £2.99 (€4.30) to £7.99 (€11.45).
