Sony now lets you broadcast games from your mobile

Sony Mobile has announced a partnership with Twitch, which will let you broadcast your gaming action from your Xperia device.

Sony now lets you broadcast games from your mobile

The cleverly titled Live screen streaming app brings integrated in-device broadcasting to your Android smartphone for the first time ever. Those with an Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z4, Xperia Z4v, or the Xperia Z4 Tablet can take advantage of this new feature.

The app's on-screen overlay shows you how many people are watching your stream and commenting on it. You can also save your footage to your device rather than broadcasting it right away.

Senior Business Development Manager at Sony Mobile Communications, Carl-Fredrik Mårtensson, said that this partnership with Twitch “to integrate live broadcasting directly in our latest flagship devices represents a fun, social experience for Xperia’s Android gamers.”

Those with a selected Xperia device can download the Twitch app from the Google Play Store and broadcast their Android games. The first to stream Android games could very well carve out a niche for themselves.

Of course, when they’re done playing, they can also watch a live broadcast of hugely popular games like Call of Duty, Minecraft, League of Legends, or FIFA.
