PewDiePie made $7 million in 2014 by recording videogames

PewDiePie has 37.7 million subscribers on YouTube with individual video views consistently hitting 3-4 million. Video views are just one source of income. PewDiePie has released a range of merchandise and is even releasing a book.

His book, titled ‘This Book Loves You’, is a collection of inspirational quotes that he’s said over the years as a YouTube star. “Don't be yourself. Be a pizza. Everyone loves pizza," for example. It’s not quite as motivational as, “Don’t let your dreams be dreams,” but it should sell well.

Kjellberg founded his company, PewDie Productions, in 2012. In its first year, it had sales of roughly €77,000. This increased to just over €3 million the following year. Not bad for sitting around in a room on his own playing videogames.
