Community could still get another season
It's been quite a few years for Community fans, with creator Dan Harmon leaving during the NBC run, then coming back only to have the network cancel the show after five seasons. Then, out of nowhere, Yahoo picked up for a sixth series run which has just finished up in the US.
And the journey may not be over yet, despite everyone pretty much assuming it has run its course.
There's word directly from Yahoo via Deadline that the show isn't quite dead yet. According to a spokeperson:
With the season six finale of Community airing today, we’re continually excited by how much fans are engaging with the series. Now that all episodes are available for binge viewing, stay tuned for how we keep Community delighting its fans."
It's a long way from a confirmation and might just be a way to keep fans happy in the wake of the end of the current season but Community has one big advantage - Yahoo needs original programming and as a package it's already pretty much ready to go, bar the busy schedules of some series regulars.
Six season and a movie? Maybe, just maybe...
