Rocket League takes to the field on July 7th
The game puts players in control of a vehicle as they play a souped up game of football. The basic objective remains the same: get the ball into the opposing team’s goal. But you’ll have boosts, power-ups, and your own highly customisable vehicle at your disposal.
Psyonix released a trailer to announce this release date, which also lists many of the game’s launch features. Good news for those of you who like split-screen; it will be possible to play with up to three other players on the one screen.
Meanwhile, the online component caters for up to eight players. There will be dedicated servers, which should make things nice and smooth. And there’s even cross-play functionality between PC and PlayStation 4.
There’s also an all-new season mode, an extensive customisation mode, and the PS4 exclusive Sweet Tooth vehicle.
