Android M will let smartphone batteries doze to extend battery life
This will help devices save battery life when the device’s motion sensor is stagnant. But you don’t need to worry about missing out; alarms and notifications will still be pushed to the phone.Over time, Android M will “exponentially” restrict background activity to ensure longer battery life.Android M introduces a few other features too. It introduces app permissions, which simplifies what data users allow apps to access. Instead of showing a lengthy list of permissions upon installation of an app, Android M will instead ask for permission when an app needs to use a phone feature. This means that you’ll finally be able to work out why a given app needs access to your microphone, camera, or contacts. Most importantly, it means you can deny it access there and then.Android M will be available to users in Q3 2015. The developer preview is available now.
