Rather than forcing one ending of the Mass Effect trilogy to be canon, or factoring in the choices that players made along the way, Mass Effect 4 will be a standalone entity. A number of details about Mass Effect 4 have emerged thanks to a survey sent out to fans.Mass Effect 4’s story will be set in the Andromeda galaxy, rather than the Milky Way, and will allow players to explore a world that is four times the size of Mass Effect 3. Players will be able to set up colonies, take on squad mates to bring on missions, complete certain missions to earn their loyalty, and destroy Khet outposts to open additional narrative options in a region.Interestingly, the survey suggests that there will be no loading screens between flying your ship, landing, and driving the Mako or getting out on foot. That would certainly be welcome, though we’re hoping that it wouldn’t lead to never ending tunnels, elevators, or other tricks.As for multiplayer, Mass Effect 4 will feature a Horde mode that pits up to four players against waves of enemy troops on various battlefields throughout the galaxy. They must fight together to survive these waves and complete objectives.
