OnePlus may announce OnePlus Lite today

We already knew that OnePlus would release a handset later this year, but the company may actually have two handsets up its sleeve. OnePlus is expected to announce the OnePlus Lite later today.

The OnePlus Lite, or OnePlus One Lite edition as Droid Pile is calling it, causes problems for OnePlus’ naming convention. The handset will, according to the site’s sources, have higher specs than the original OnePlus One, but will be more affordable than the OnePlus Two. It’s expected that the smartphone will launch alongside the OnePlus Two.OnePlus’ upcoming flagship, the OnePlus Two, is expected to come with some new hardware features, including a fingerprint identification system, which would up the price a little. OnePlus may try to temper the price jump somewhat with the OnePlus One Lite edition, which would fall somewhere between the two.OnePlus sent out invites for an event that will be held today.
