Corrib production delayed

The Corrib Gas Field, which was the second significant gas discovery off the coast of Ireland containing around two thirds of the capacity of the Kinsale field Enterprise Energy said it was disappointing to have postponed the laying of the pipeline, but it was working with An Bord Pleanála on a number of issues about the reception terminal at Bellanaboy in Mayo.

Enterprise Energy Ireland's managing director Andy Pyle said Corrib is a hugely important project for Ireland and the Corrib co-partners remain committed to its development: "We are currently working to address a number of issues raised by An Bord Pleanála relating to the proposed onshore site for the gas reception terminal at Bellanaboy. While we believe that the Bellanaboy site is the most suitable one for the onshore terminal, we are currently working to address the queries raised to support that view.
