The number of mortgages in arrears continues to drop, falling to the lowest level since 2009.

New data from the Central Bank shows mortgages on principal dwellings in arrears for more than 90 days stood at 24,583 at the end of June. This represents 3.5% of all such mortgages outstanding, representing a 13% annual drop compared to the same period last year. The figures show 75% of accounts in arrears are held by non-bank lenders.
