Friday, 22 December was the most popular shopping day over Christmas week with Irish shoppers spending €92m in stores

The average household in Ireland spent a record €767 on groceries in December with Christmas sales reaching €1.4bn over the month.

According to the latest figures from Kantar, the spending by households was up €42 compared to December 2022, and an increase of €170 compared to 2019.
