Inflation is estimated to have increased in September despite interest rate hikes to combat higher prices.

A "flash" estimate of price inflation for Irish consumers in the 12 months to September rose to 5%, up from 4.9% recorded in August, latest figures from the Central Statistics Office (CSO) showed.
