ECB raises interest rates for a third time increasing them by 0.75%

Move will add up to €900 to annual repayments for many mortgage holders

The focus will now switch to lenders in Ireland to see when and how they pass on the rate hike to customers.

The European Central Bank has made another hike in interest rates adding 0.75% to its base rate.

The rate hike, the third this year, will add further pain to homeowners already dealing with rising energy prices and grocery bills.
