Vinted connects Irish members to two new countries

Customers will now be able to buy and sell with members in Belgium and Luxembourg

Data from AIB on its customers' debit and credit card spending earlier this year showed spending on second-hand stores such as Vinted surged 197% year on year.

Vinted has expanded its platform for Irish customers to include Belgium and Luxembourg.

Notifying customers this week, Vinted said Irish members of the second-hand fashion sales platform will now be able to buy and sell to members in Belgium and Luxembourg. The Irish market was previously just connected to France.

A spokesperson for the company said the new connections will create "greater choice and new opportunities to buy and sell" for members. Shipping between the three newly connected countries is offered through DPD.

Vinted was founded in Lithuania in 2008 and launched in Ireland in 2024. It is available in more than 25 countries including the US and Australia.

The popularity of Vinted in Ireland has had a positive impact on the Irish postal service, with An Post reporting strong e-commerce parcel revenue growth of 3.5% in its 2025 annual report.

The Vinted spokesperson said members saved more than €21 billion on fashion in 2025 by shopping second-hand across the Vinted market, with fashion items costing 72% less on average.

Expanding the marketplace "will help items find the right buyer and make second-hand an even more attractive alternative to buying new," the spokesperson continued.
