Renowned South-East retailers Pettitt's SuperValu makes first move into Dublin
Renowned business family the Pettitts have made their first step into the Dublin city retail space after Pettitt’s SuperValu on Monday announced the acquisition of SuperValu Knocklyon in Dublin.
Renowned business family the Pettitts have made their first step into the Dublin city retail space after Pettitt’s SuperValu on Monday announced the acquisition of SuperValu Knocklyon in Dublin.
Pettitt’s SuperValu already operates six supermarkets throughout the South East of Ireland. The acquisition builds on their most recent store opening, Pettitt’s SuperValu Southern Cross Road in Bray in Wicklow.

We are delighted to welcome the team in Knocklyon to the Pettitt's SuperValu family and look forward to working alongside them in the many years ahead," new owner Cormac Pettitt said.
Mr Pettitt said they will continue investing in the store and that the Pettitts range of fresh food products including the Pettitt's Kitchen, Pettitt's Bakery, and Sleedagh Farm beef brands will be available in the Dublin store.
The addition of SuperValu Knocklyon brings the Pettitt’s SuperValu group to seven stores. The Pettitt family has been retailing in Ireland’s South East since 1946 and celebrates 80 years of service this year, tracing its origins back to Jack Pettitt’s first store on Wexford’s South Main Street.
The group now employs more than 700 workers across Wexford, Wicklow, Kildare, and Dublin. Pettitt’s SuperValu St Aidan’s was named SuperValu Store of the Year 2024.
