Kerrygold dairy co-op Ornua appoints two new key roles

Irish dairy co-op Ornua has appointed Shane Henry as MD of Ornua Dairy Ingredients and Seán McHugh as head of global manufacturing and operational excellence.

Shane Henry will lead the newly established Ornua Dairy Ingredients, developing strong, sustainable, and profitable routes to market for Irish dairy products produced by Ornua’s member co-operatives.

Shane’s team will drive Ornua’s Dairy Ingredients businesses, servicing key international customers across Europe, the UK, US, and MEA, and the wider Ornua Group.

Shane brings 25 years of experience working in key roles at Ornua, including his most recent role as MD of Ornua’s Route-to-Market and Member Relations team. He reports directly to Ornua’s CEO, Conor Galvin.

Seán McHugh will report to Jason Musk, chief operations officer of Ornua. Seán will drive performance across Ornua’s global manufacturing footprint, while leading a standardised operational excellence programme.

With 25 years of experience at Ornua, Seán was most recently MD of Kerrygold Park, Ornua’s flagship butter production facility in Mitchelstown, Co Cork, the home of Kerrygold butter. In parallel, Seán drover the brand’s innovation agenda as global head of research and development.
