Cork founded employee communications and software firm Poppulo has completed the acquisition of French firm Sociabble.
The deal brings the combined Poppulo headcount to just under 700, with Sociabble bringing around 100 employees on board. Sociabble was founded in Paris in 2014 becoming a leader in internal communications.
“Organizations need clearer ways to connect communication to action,” said Ruth Fornell, CEO of Poppulo. “With Sociabble, we’re delivering a unified platform that works with the rest of their work tech — so leaders can reach every employee, understand what resonates, and drive meaningful outcomes across the business.”
Poppulo is a leader in Employee Experience (EX) and Digital Signage software, with its technology used by 40 of the Fortune 100 companies. Founded in 1996 as Newsweaver in Cork by tech entrepreneur Andrew O'Shaughnessy, the company merged with Four Winds Interactive in 2021. The company now has its global headquarters in Denver, Colorada but Cork remains an important hub for the firm.
Mr O'Shaugnessy has since left the firm.
Poppulo is backed by technology investor Vista Equity Partners. The value of the deal to acquire Sociabble has not been disclosed.
In 2025, Poppulo acquired US digital signage and software company Reach Media Network.
