Danish retailer Normal opens a new store in Cork's Queens Old Castle on Thursday, its third Irish store and its first outside Dublin.

The Cork branch will cover 563sq m and create around 30 to 35 jobs, with opening promotions on Thursday including 1,000 goodie bags. Founded in Denmark in 2013, Normal operates more than 1,000 stores across several European countries, with Cork marking another step in its expansion. The Cork store follows successful launches at Dublin’s Ilac Centre and Northside Shopping Centre.

Normal is based on a “treasure-hunt” shopping experience, with maze-like layouts and over 100 new products added weekly. Products include personal care, household items, snacks, drinks, K-Beauty, US candy, and Asian products.

Normal CEO Jakob Frølich Maarbjerg said the company is excited to bring the brand’s "affordable and fun shopping experience" to Cork after strong support in Dublin.
