Central Bank executive Annemarie Britz has been appointed chief financial officer with RTÉ, Ireland’s national broadcaster.

Annemarie will take up the role in the autumn. She is currently the director of finance and business performance at the Central Bank of Ireland.

Annemarie joined the Central Bank of Ireland in 2019 as head of the financial control division, moving to her current CBI role in 2024. Annemarie spent most of her career in private sector roles in South Africa, notably in CFO positions.

She joined the Reserve Bank of South Africa in 2014; she was deputy CFO (2014–16) and then deputy head of financial markets (2016–19).

Annemarie represents the Central Bank of Ireland on the budget committee of the European Central Bank and is a member of its global network of Central Bank CFOs. She previously served on the ECB’s accounting and monetary income committee.

She holds a BCom in Accounting and a cert in the Theory of Accounting from University of Pretoria, South Africa; she is a qualified chartered accountant.
