Convenience retailer Centra sold nearly 10m chicken fillet rolls in 2025, helping to push sales up 4.6% to a record €2.2bn, the company announced on Monday.
The retail group said its deli section delivered growth of 7.4% during the year. Fine summer weather also boosted performance, with the company’s Moo’d ice cream brand increasing sales by 15% over the summer months. Its Frank & Honest coffee brand recorded year-on-year sales growth of 10.9%, with more than 26m cups now sold annually.
Centra also introduced a high-protein Egg Muffin in the past year, which it said was “a standout success, with over 1m sold in its first year”.
Centra serves 3.6m customers each week across its 500 stores, employing 12,000 people. The company, part of the Musgrave Group, is targeting growth to 600 stores nationwide by 2030, with plans to refurbish 25 stores and revamp a further 40 locations during 2026 alone.

"In 2026, we will invest €27m in new and upgraded stores across the country and create over 500 new jobs nationwide," said Centra and SuperValu managing director Luke Hanlon.
"This builds on a strong performance in 2025 and reflects what sets Centra apart, locally owned retailers delivering great service at the heart of communities, supported by a relentless focus on evolving our offer and enhancing the customer experience."
Centra said it will continue to expand its range of functional beverages, including the introduction of The Happy Pear gut health soda range, alongside continued growth in high-protein, high-fibre and nutrient-dense meal options.
