Shannon Airport welcomed 2.3m passengers through its gates in 2025 - its highest numbers in 16 years.

The increased passenger figures - up 9% on 2024 - comes as the Midwest hub plans €40m investment in 2026. Shannon Airport will operate 40 routes in 2026 to destinations, including five new routes in the summer schedule - Rome, Warsaw, Madrid, and Poznan with Ryanair, and Frankfurt with Discover Airlines, a Lufthansa Group subsidiary. The airport will also see increased frequencies on some existing services, including the Aer Lingus’ Boston route.
