Tipperary-founded SYS Financial, one of Ireland’s fastest-growing financial advisory firms, has announced the acquisition of financial planning practice GTL Life and Pensions for an undisclosed amount.

The acquisition forms part of SYS Financial’s expansion strategy and will bring overall assets under management by the firm to over €680m, SYS said.

The firm also said it has further acquisitions in the pipeline, which are projected to bring its client assets under management to €1.3bn in the next three months.

Founded in 2015 by former Tipperary hurling star Tony Delaney, SYS offers financial solutions for employers, individuals, families, and private wealth clients and operates offices in Nenagh, Cork, Limerick and Dublin.

Portlaoise-based GTL Life and Pensions was founded in 1977 by the late John Lawlor and is currently led by his daughter, Emma Lawlor, as managing director. The firm currently manages €30m in assets.

Mr Delaney said: “We’re delighted to welcome GTL Life and Pensions into SYS Financial. This acquisition strengthens our presence in a key regional market and reinforces our ambition to be the leading provider of client-focused financial planning in Ireland. We are committed to expanding our footprint across Ireland and delivering exceptional service to our clients.”

Ms Lawlor said: “This is a very positive move for our clients. Joining SYS Financial represents a natural next step and I’m looking forward to contributing to SYS Financial’s growth in the years ahead.”
