Regatta Great Outdoors Ireland  sales climb 7.1% to €36.6m

Outdoor and adventure clothing and equipment specialists Regatta Great Outdoors has reported sales climbing over €36.6m, up 7.1% year on year.

Leading outdoor and adventure clothing and equipment brand Regatta Great Outdoors has reported sales climbing over €36.6m, up 7.1% year on year.

Regatta Great Outdoors is the Irish arm of Regatta UK, and his headquartered in Model Farm Road, Cork, and is a wholesale distributor and retailer of outdoor leisure clothing through its own stores, online and concessions. 

The overall Regatta brand was founded in Manchester in the UK in 1981 and remains in the ownership of the Black family. Regatta Great Outdoors was launched in Ireland by managing director, Brian Fox, in 2001.

Regatta now has stores right across the country, and in June 2025 opened a new store in Clonmel, Co Tipperary as it continues to expand.

In its financial statement for the year ended January 31, the directors of Regatta Great Outdoors Ireland said the business had enjoyed "continued growth", delivering sales of €36,617,785. Operating profit reached €1,303,986, up from the €783,805 recorded in the 2024 statement.

The company reported a profit after tax of €858,758. 

Regatta Great Outdoors had total staff of 298, with combined wages and social security costs of €6.73m.

The company owed a balance to Craghoppers Ireland, a company with a common ownership and directors, amounting to €171,719. 

In 2022, Regatta opened at 170,000 sq ft warehouse in Ringaskiddy, Co Cork. However, the company made the decision to close the warehouse in spring 2024, with operations moving to one of the company’s British facilities. 

In its financial statement, the company said interest costs were payable in respect of a loan provided "to purchase a warehouse in June 2022, which was subsequently disposed of in July 2024. The company incurred interest costs of €406,420 in the year ended 31 January 2025."
