The average rebuilding costs, depending on the city or region where the home is situated, increased by between €8,430 and €22,350 over the last year. 

The average cost of rebuilding a home has increased by 7% nationally over the last 12 months, driven by competition for construction work which has led to additional labour costs, a new report by the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (SCSI) has found.

The report found the average rebuilding costs, depending on the city or region where the home is situated, increased by between €8,430 and €22,350.
