Bankinter grows Irish loan book by 24%

Avant Money by Bankinter plans to add deposit accounts later this year, having secured a full banking licence.

Spanish firm Bankinter, which operates as Avant Money in Ireland, grew its loan book to €4bn in the first quarter, made up of €3bn in mortgages and €1bn in personal loans and credit cards.

In a trading update, the bank said net interest income grew to €27m compared to €24m in the same quarter last year.
