Second-hand homes for sale down 7% amid 'severe scarcity' warning

According to the company, there were just 2,370 homes on the market in the sub-€200,000 range as of the end of July. 

The number of second-hand homes on the market has declined by a further 7% over the last year to 12,785, as the “severe scarcity” continues to impact potential homebuyers, a new analysis by estate agent Sherry FitzGerald has found.

Overall, there has been a 29% decline in second-hand homes on the market since 2020. As of the end of July, just 0.6% of the country’s current private housing stock is for sale.
