Munters new production and office facility in Cork.

A 120,000 sq ft production facility set to increase capacity for data centre cooling solutions is 'taking shape,' the building's new owners have announced.

Swedish-based air treatment firm Munters said it is executing its move into the more than 120,000 sq ft facility at Anchor Business Park in Little Island to "meet the growing demand for data center cooling in Europe."

The firm specialises in data centre cooling solutions, air handling, close control and heat recovery systems. Two years ago, it acquired Carrigaline-based firm EDPACin a deal worth €29m.

The company currently operates in 30 countries, with the acquisition and move to a larger premises in Cork allowing the Swedish-based company to expand further into Europe — along with its burgeoning data centre sector.

“The new production and office facility is yet another example of how we continue to invest in Europe following the successful acquisition of EDPAC in 2022,” says Stefan Aspman, President of Business Area Data Center Technologies at Munters.

“The growing demand for our cooling solutions has made investing in increased production capabilities a natural next step to better serve the EMEA market.”

The facility is designed for manufacturing the company’s complete portfolio of data center cooling solutions and will be fully operational in the first half of 2025, the company said.

“We are very excited about the progress we are making with the business and the new facility,” says Paul Holland, Managing Director Data Center Technologies at Munters EMEA.

“By expanding our production capability, we can be even more responsive to our customers’ capacity and lead-time needs.”
