Competition authority approves Lloyds Pharmacy takeover of McCabes Pharmacy

Sharon McCabe, who has been chief executive of McCabes Pharmacy since 1999, will run the new entity incorporating Lloyds Pharmacy. 

The competition authority has approved the takeover of McCabes Pharmacy chain by Lloyds Pharmacy subject to a commitment to sell two stores in Lucan in Dublin.

This is the second time the two pharmacy companies sought to get the merger approved by the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC).
