An Irish developer has lost his Supreme Court appeal over an order that he pay €1.57m damages over fraudulent misrepresentation, deceit and misappropriating large sums paid to his companies for a luxury hotel and resort in the Caribbean left unfinished and in "a complete mess".
Padraig (Paudie) O'Halloran, who hails from county Cork, had appealed over a range of High Court findings, including that he diverted some US$1.48m paid to two companies in his ICE Group for the Buccament Bay resort to his personal bank accounts in Ireland.
