Household spending in Ireland increased by 4% year-on-year last January, according to data from Visa's Irish Consumer Spending Index.

The report, which measures expenditure across all payment types (cash, cheques and electronic payments), stated that the rate of growth continues to be below the average seen since the series began in September 2014.
