Bogus self-employment contracts on the rise
A new TASC report being published today has found an increase in bogus self-employment contracts here.
The number of self-employed workers has risen by 13% to 38% since 2006.
A conference will take place today examining ad-hoc contracts.
Lead researcher on Working Conditions in Ireland Professor James Wickham said: "the level of inspection and prosecution has gone right down, which means employers can get away with things that in the past they wouldn't even have thought of doing."
